Was reading my Washington Post (I’m totally addicted) on the Kindle and they mentioned this band’s new record and something about punk Thin Lizzy.
I like this – a lot. I know you guys love girl singers and I like this one too. Will investigate further. The logo is as cheesy as the band is good.
Shit.
The bad news first: I think this is another download-only band.
The good news 1: They’re from Philly.
The good news 2 (Peter only): They’re playing in Brooklyn May 9th.
I like it too. Where the guy got Thin Lizzy I don’t know, maybe a little in the lead guitar? I get a punk Lynyrd Skynrd or however you spell it, or the Black Keys, or a tougher Alabama Shakes. The babe can definitely belt, good tune, rockin band. LAMF
Something weird about the mix. Her voice and the backing tracks sound like they were recorded in totally different environments. Sounds good, kind of alien.
I’d go with tougher, much tougher, Alabama Shakes.
Steve, you can download the music and burn it to a CD, and then it’s just like buying the thing on disk only you get to create your own art.
The logo is somewhat reminiscent of the Thin Lizzy logo. Maybe that’s where it came from.

I kinda like this song. Punky poppy, but I am not sure how strong her voice really is. Sounds kind of thin in spots. But, generally, I like.
What I am having trouble with is Steve owning a Kindle and downloading shit to it. It is like I don’t even know you any more.
If you must know, here’s the Kindle story:
I like my newspapers and they were getting too damn expensive. I bought a tablet two Christmases ago SPECIFICALLY to read newspapers. I bought a Kindle SPECIFICALLY for the “Mayday” feature, which gives one instant access to a live Amazon tech person. I don’t use that a lot but when I do, I’m glad I have it.
I don’t download the Post, it just showed up one day months ago as a free trial subscription and I fell in love.
So don’t get too excited about my modern bent and technical capabilities.
