These guys never broke out in any meaningful way, but in those golden days of rock ‘n’ roll they were soldiers on the front line. I loved this song, played this single constantly for a while, because it was so clued in to all the different sounds we rocked to. Anthemic without being bossy, devoted without being chaste.
That last sentence totally cracks me up.
Never was into this, but it did make me think of the Flesh Eaters.
Yes Peter, that’s a great sentence. The Sinatras played a gig at Max’s with these guys I’m pretty sure, although it’s possible I’m confusing them with The Invaders, a similar band who I quite liked at the time. There doesn’t seem to be any youtube evidence that The Invaders existed. I do remember that we opened a set with The Twist and they opened their set with Let’s Twist Again.
Wow. I was gonna write, while I was acknowledging that I kind of like this song (new to me, though) that your last sentence was indeed a beaut. But everyone else beat me to the punch.
