I was being ironic about transgressive, because the Minuteman song is kind of a new wave commercial move (now that’s transgressive) that can’t resist piling on the anarcho-absurdist rhetoric or stripping away any commercial hooks (what’s new wave without hooks?). Kind of like a jazzy Devo.
1. I don’t know what transgressive means.
2. It was progressive in its time.
3. It’s sort of radical.
4. It’s what pop should be.
I don’t feel transgressed. This isn’t hardcore though, this is hardcore from my old bandmate Steve Wishnia:

False Prophets. That’s excellent played loud. And a reminder I have Wishniak’s Exit 25 Utopia on my night table.
