You’re right that this album was his most innovative. Part of the problem with Classic Rock radio is that after 45 years I’ve built up an immunity to many of these songs. For my current listening pleasure I prefer The Cry of Love.
The first entry in the category of “Obligatory Albums For Greatest Albums Of All-Time Lists.”
Many more of those coming up, and many of the many bump up against Gene’s problem with Classic Rock radio. At some point the burr is worn down to smooth. But if you’re not familiar, or if you haven’t listened in a while, Obligatory is a fact.
Or if you’re an alien. But, like I said before, the aliens should just skip your lists and go directly to the real deal – mine.
