  1. I used to work in a warehouse in New Rochelle where the employees were split roughly 50/50 black/white. We had the music going on at all times and the black guys absolutely loved Devo’s version of Satisfaction. To a man. That was the first song I ever heard of theirs. Thinking about it (thank you, Peter) made me realize I hadn’t heard it in a long time, and it holds up really well I think. It’s not ordinarily my cup of tea but they make it my cup of tea.

  2. Funny, if there’s one Devo song I’m tired of, it’s “Satisfaction.” All relative, of course. Most stuff I’m more tired of than “Satisfaction” the first time I hear it.

    That Cramps video reminds me of the City Gardens oral history I read late this summer. Said when the Cramps would play, the big thing for the folks in the front was to see if they could grab Lux Interior’s pants and pull them down. I can see why. Notice how he doesn’t venture too close.
